NFVB is now on Flickr
We will begin posting photos shared with us by others in the NFVB community. As we get up and running on Flickr, we are looking for a number of types of photos.
Past Seasons:
We are particularly looking for past season photos. Many of you have been faithful photographers of NFVB teams in tournaments, on the road, at home in practice, taking photos of individuals, groups, and team photos after tournament successes or at outings, etc. in previous seasons.
Unfortunately, very few others have seen those photos. We want share them with the NFVB community. Please consider digging into your digital photo files and emailing these photos to us.
We need photos from all prior seasons:
2005-2006
2006-2007
2007-2008
2008-2009
Current Season:
As our season gets under way, we imagine you all will once again get your cameras out. Please consider making it a habit to email us a few of your photos.
How to Email Us Your Photos:
If you are shooting with a digital camera, after uploading photos to your computer, logon to your email program and send an email to us, with the photos as attachments.
If you are taking pictures with your cell phone and have email capability, you can send the pictures directly from your phone to us.
First Step:
To become one of our emailers, contact Lonni Wilson, for the email address to which you can send or text pictures in order to share them on our flickr account.
Next Steps:
When you send a photo to this email, you DO NOT need to write a message. This is important. This email address is an upload portal for photos. It is not designed to handle messages like, “hey, NFVB here’s our photos from x weekend.” If you include a message, it will be added to the photo and create problems.
The following are some simple upload guidelines.
- SUBJECT of the message: Set the subject of the message as the name of the NFVB team, colon, the date of the photo.
- If the photo was taken of members of the 13-2 team on January 17, 2009, the subject would be “13-2: January 17, 2009“
- Date: please write out the date as month, day, year, as in the example above and not 1-17-09, 1-17-2009, 2009-1-17, etc.
- Multiple teams: If the photo includes multiple NFVB teams, the subject can show both, for example, “13-2 and 17-1: February 15, 2009″.
- BODY of the message: IMPORTANT! Only one thing can appear in the body. You may write the names of the individuals in the picture
- Please include first and last names
- separate each name with a comma
- write nothing else in the body
- Example: jane doe, julie smith, jen johnson
- ATTACHMENTS: Attach all photos in one message as long as the subject heading is still correct, i.e., NFVB team name, colon, date.
- That is, you do not need to send each photo in a separate email. You can email all photos in one email.
- Exception: if the email is going to be larger than 2MB, go ahead and send separate emails keeping the size under 2MB per email
Again, it’s important that you don’t write a message in the body of the email other than the names of the athletes.
Once you email your photos
Once you have sent the email, you should see your pictures appear on NFVB’s flickr account within a couple of minutes.
Problems or mistakes
If you have problems or make mistakes, please contact Lonni Wilson.
Thank you!
Again, thank you for taking the time to read this and learn how to share your photos with us. Once you get used to it, it’s pretty simple, just emailing us photos. We’re looking forward to have more pictures of our teams and athletes available for all to see.
