NEW TRAVEL COACH INTRODUCTION

Niagara Frontier is excited to announce the addition of five new coaches this season, bringing our staff a wealth of coaching and playing experience.

Kristen Bauer-Smith - A 13 year head coach for Division I Coastal Carolina from 1999 to 2011 and an assistant coach at East Tennessee State from 1995-1998. Bauer helped guide Coastal to the NCAA Tournament in 2009 after winning the Big South Tournament and was named Big South Coach of the Year in 2005 and 2000. A 1993 graduate of The Ohio State University, she helped Ohio State capture the 1990 Big Ten Conference Championship as a middle blocker. The Buffalo, N.Y. native coached the varsity volleyball program at Nardin Academy from 1993 to 1995. During this same time, she coached the Cheetah Volleyball Club's 16 and under and 18 and under club teams for two years. Bauer is a member of the Cardinal O'Hara Hall of Fame.

Maria DePeters - Maria is in her sixth season as head coach of the Buffalo State Bengals' Division III volleyball program, leading the Bengals to the postseason in four of five years, including the program's first-ever conference championship in 2013. DePeters graduated from Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea, Ohio. She was a four-year standout player with the Yellow Jackets, as a middle hitter. She finished her career third in school history in blocks and fifth in kills. She was an All-Ohio Athletic Conference honoree and was her team's MVP as a senior. DePeters has assisted with the Niagara Frontier Volleyball Club in the past and is a proud member of the very first Niagara Frontier 18U team in 2005. She is a graduate of Mt. St. Mary Academy.

Bret Stothart - Bret has recently moved to Buffalo after leaving Division III Western New England University as the winningest coach in program history following five seasons at the helm. The Emmaus, PA native was recognized as the conference Coach of the Year twice during his tenure. Prior to his time at Western New England, Stothart served as head coach at Roger Williams for six seasons, where he was named Coach of the Year in 2010, and led Roger Williams to consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances. As a graduate of Springfield College, Stothart enjoyed a standout four-year volleyball career leading the Pride to a Division III National Championship. Stothart went on to earn his master of business administration degree from Niagara University in 2005 where he was also an assistant coach for the Niagara University women's team.

Stacey Smith - Stacey is in her second season as an assistant with the Hilbert College Hawks women’s volleyball program. Smith has recently returned from playing volleyball at Nottingham University (Nottingham, UK) where she earned her Masters in Business Management overseas. Stacey attend the University of Georgia and represented the Division I Bulldogs as a Right Side hitter. With one season of athletic eligibility remaining, Smith played her final year at Syracuse University. Stacey attended Eden High School and won three New York State championships with the volleyball program as well as being named the MVP of the NYS Championship tournament, was an All-American her senior season, a 1st Team All-Western New York.

Emily Litwin - Emily returns to coach at Niagara Frontier after a year off and a standout playing career at Canisius College. She was named the Libero of the Year in 2014 and a Second Team All MAAC selection in 2014 and 2013. Litwin played in all 90 of the Griff's matches from 2012 through 2014. As a Freshman she attended and played at SUNY Binghamton. A Sacred Heart Academy graduate, Emily was the 2010 Monsignor Martin Association MVP who help capture two Catholic League Championships in 2008 and 2009.

Adam McLamb - Adam begins his second year as an assistant coach for the SUNY Buffalo Division I Bulls volleyball program. Prior to coming to WNY, Adam was an assistant coach at UT-Chattanooga during the 2014 season.  McLamb specializes in training pin hitters and passers. Before coaching at the collegiate level, McLamb coached juniors for the Coastal Virginia Volleyball Club of Virginia Beach, Va. Adam played club volleyball at both New Hampshire and his alma mater - Radford.  As a setter, his UNH team claimed the NCVF Division 1-AA National Championship.  McLamb was named a First Team All-Tournament performer.
