2024 Tournament Information

Niagara Frontier collaborates with WEVA, Tournament directors across our region, and regions across the country to discuss guidelines for event management.  Our priority, first and foremost, is to keep all families safe during tournaments. In the event of a pandemic, our events will  adhere to the most current CDC, New York State and local government regulations regarding competition and gatherings.

  • Events will be sanctioned by USA Volleyball, JVA , AAU, or run independently by Niagara Frontier Volleyball. The WEVA region has begun the process of sanctioning events for the 2023-2024 season.
  • Our tournaments will reference all USA Volleyball, JVA and AAU  play guidelines for events.
  • There will be a $5 per day spectator fee collected at the door. Children 12 and under, working officials, rostered players and rostered coaches are free of charge.
  • The Niagara Frontier Sports facility staff reserves the right to limit the number of spectators on a per event basis. Club directors and team coaches should be responsible for assuring that restrictions are adhered to by their club.
  • Limited bleacher seating will be available.  "Camp" chairs are allowed to be set up in the building provided they are not in any restricted play areas, walkways, in front of bleachers, doorways, exits or the tournament desk.
  • Niagara Frontier will monitor the entrance and determine flow of traffic entering and leaving the building and playing area of facility. Rosters must include the names of all coaches and players in attendance.
  • Individuals may choose to wear masks if desired. Touchless water bottle fillers are available in the hallway near the restrooms and in the court area at the end of court #3.
  • Only playing teams and rostered personnel or members from the work team are allowed in the playing area of the facility. All others must be located in areas designated by facility personnel and/or tournament directors (including chaperones). All bags, backpacks and personal items should stay in the designated areas for the team and not be brought out to the playing floor or bench area.
  • The snack bar will be open and will sell pre-packaged food, snacks and beverages. Pizza and pre-made subs are usually available. Drink and snack vending machines have been added in the lobby for convenience. Outside food and/or coolers are NOT ALLOWED to be brought into the building.
  • We are currently working on a new live stream viewing service.

Event Format Considerations:

  • Niagara Frontier Tournament directors will consider different formats to ensure tournaments can continue to offer a high level of competition. We may have to consider lowering the number of sets guaranteed at an event. Wave play will be considered for multi-day events. Ample time will be scheduled in between matches to allow teams to leave the court and the teams for the next scheduled match onto the court.
  • It is possible that matches may not have any officials. In this case, the work team must provide the officials. Teams and coaches should use honor calls. Replays will be instituted in the case of disagreement or inability to come to a consensus.
  • If work teams are assigned to matches, the following may be expected: scorekeeper, flip score, libero tracker, lines and/or second referee. Hand sanitizer and wipes to be used at the scorer’s table will be provided. A rostered adult MUST be part of the work team to minimize number of personnel in proximity of the court.
  • A modified scoresheet may be used.

Acceptance Into Tournaments:

Niagara Frontier Volleyball will accept teams who have met all entry requirements until space is filled, or the deadline date. Entry requirements include: online registration in AES and payment received.

Team Acceptance Criteria:

  • Postmark or electronic date of payment and complete entry requirements
  • Strength of team
  • Number of teams per club per division will be taken into account in order to allow the most diverse competition.
  • History of team/club behavior at previous NFVB events

After the registration deadline date or until a division fills, teams may be accepted at the discretion of the event director.

If a division is filled to capacity by the time a team completes the entry process, teams denied entry or waitlisted can contact the event director to request entry into an older division if space is available.

Under no circumstance is a team that is denied entry into any division guaranteed a berth in any other division.

Registration status will be maintained and updated in AES. Please consult AES before contacting Niagara Frontier about your team’s entry. Total number of teams per division may change depending on the number of entries received for all ages and all divisions.

Event Refund Policy:

  • In the event that a pandemic or local government regulations force the cancellation of an event, refunds will be prorated to the club and will reflect incurred expenses.
  • If a team drops prior to 45 days of the event date they will receive a 100% refund.
  • If a team drops from an event prior to 14 days before the event date, they will receive a 90% refund.
  • If a team drops from an event for any reason within 14 days of the tournament start date the team will not be refunded. Most event formats and schedules will be completed 5 to 7 days before the tournament start date.
