On Saturday, November 2nd, 22 Niagara Frontier Volleyball players volunteered their day to serve as coaches at the “Girls in Sports” event that was held at the University @ Buffalo Alumni Arena. This program was developed by Mary Wilson in 2005 to offer inner city girls, ages 12 and under, an exposure to the benefits of various sports and Title IX. Over 220 participants attended the event and sited the volleyball station as the program favorite! NFVB “coaches” ranged in ages from 11 – 17 and truly were incredible examples of role models that made this day a success! Be proud of these volunteers! If you would like more information on how to volunteer for future events, please contact Gail Tylec at firstname.lastname@example.org.
