Coach Spotlight of the Week

Hannah Boltz has been a special part of Niagara Frontier Volleyball for over 10 years.  She started as a player in the club, transitioned to youth and national club coach, and is an integral part of the operations side of the club as she assists with tryouts, building supervision, uniform distribution, private lessons, tournament directing, and so much more.

Hannah is invaluable to the club on so many levels.  We thought we would highlight how special Hannah is to our team, the players, and the club.

 Name: Hannah Boltz

What NFVB team(s) did you play for while in the club? I started on the Friday night house league when I was 14 years old. I then played on the 15-3, 16-2, 17-2 and 18-2 teams.

Fun Fact – I currently coach with my first ever volleyball coach, Gary Hill, 10 years later!

How long did you play at NFVB? 4 years

Did you have an influential Coach at NFVB? Carolyn Valone Bell is more than a coach to me. She is my mentor, teacher, and a friend.

Did you play post high school/club? If so Where? What were the team and your accomplishments? After club volleyball, I attended Buffalo State to be a dual athlete in volleyball and softball. However, my career ended early due to an injury. I stayed on as the team manager and learned so much.

What are you doing now? Currently, I am in graduate school studying Occupational Therapy at D’Youville University. I am also in my 3rd year as a graduate assistant for the women’s volleyball team. When I am not studying or at coaching at D’Youville University, I am working with the youth programs at NFVB. One of my favorite ways to spend my free time!

What team are you coaching now? I am the head coach for the 12 Navy team and I assist the master coach for the local program.
