*Number of Events: Events can be classified as Scrimmages or Tournaments and are usually one or two-day events. Events will be noted on each team page after rosters are posted.  Three-day events are typically qualifying events for our Navy, or Gold and sometimes Red or Silver teams.  Since the nature and quantity of girls and boys events is different, the club may need to equate the total number of "tournament days" in order to remain within each teams allotted budget. For example, one national qualifier is the equivalent of three single tournament days. Actual team schedules will be adjusted accordingly to remain within budget. Single day events are usually 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

*Season Length: The time spans listed above do not account for a break in the club season in the event that the high school volleyball season occurs in March and April. If the high school season does occur, the club will not hold weekday practices but may choose to practice on Sundays for those two months.

*Practices Per Week: National and Regional teams will practice twice per week on their assigned days. Each team will receive a number of Sunday practice opportunities to be scheduled around tournament weekends. Local teams will practice once per week on Fridays. Those teams will also get Sunday practice opportunities as the season progresses based on coach, player and court availability.

*Season Fees: A more detailed explanation of the fees can be found on our Fees page.  If any pre-scheduled tournaments or practices need to be cancelled due to COVID-19 restrictions, related fees will be refunded at the end of the season.

3 STEPS TO REGISTER FOR TRYOUTS

STEP 1: Check NFVB Grade and USA Volleyball Age Level Table

Niagara Frontier feels that participating at your grade level allows more of our players to participate on teams with their peer groups. This also places players on teams with similar "years" of experience and maturity levels. The following Grade/Age table defines the relationships between Grade Levels, USA Volleyball Age Definitions and Team Age levels. For example: an 18U team will be comprised of a majority of high school seniors, 17U would be juniors and so on. This season, all players must tryout at their academic GRADE LEVEL. The staff will notify any players who fall into an alternate (older) division based on USA Volleyball restrictions.  The USA Volleyball Age Definition Chart can be used as a reference to verify your USAV age in the event that any player has been held back a grade and must participate at an older age group.

The club directors may allow individuals to attend an alternate age group as per the club's "Play-Up" policy in the Club Handbook. This policy also governs players who may need to tryout at a grade level below due to their USAV age. Please notify Coach Rocco or Coach Dan prior to October 12th if you feel you should be placed on a team "older" or "younger" than your current grade level for any reason (date of birth or skill level). If you attend the wrong tryout, you risk not getting the fairest evaluation at tryouts.
